{"id":8,"date":"2019-06-15T01:40:51","date_gmt":"2019-06-15T01:40:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geoffreyhale.com\/blog\/?page_id=8"},"modified":"2022-12-13T22:48:57","modified_gmt":"2022-12-14T03:48:57","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/geoffreyhale.com\/blog\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Geoffrey Raymond Hale<\/strong> (born 11 January 1986) is a multidisciplinary engineer that retired at age 35 to focus on family, travel, and developing systems for healthy intimacy and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Early Life &amp; Family<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Geoffrey was born in Torrance, the son of an English father and American mother.  His father was an engineer and mother was a nurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His sister is accomplished in hospitality, finance, and fitness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Academics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>He grew up in Marlborough and received his Bachelor&#8217;s of Science in Electrical Engineering, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Honors in 2009 from Northeastern University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At age 7, Geoffrey began coding BASIC, solving simultaneous equations, and trading stocks with his father.  He self-taught grades-ahead in mathematics and competed in MathCounts.  He received top-of-class distinctions in Mathematics, Physics, and Music.  He scored 800s on SAT Math I &amp; II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Extracurricular<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Geoffrey was active in music, sports, theater, Honors Society, and other extracurricular activities.  He sang and beat boxed in choral societies and a cappella groups.  He played piano with bands and accompanied choirs.  He was captain of varsity volleyball 2 years in a row and played basketball, baseball, soccer, and skiing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Engineering<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Geoffrey has held electrical, systems, communications, and software engineering positions in aerospace defense, genetics, real estate, and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He currently develops front end software systems for a real estate start up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Healthy Relating<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Geoffrey is passionate about healthy relating, conflict resolution, and co-living.
